One of the more aggravating circumstances in driving a car is that of dealing with the proverbial blind spot. The blind spot is the area behind and to either side of your vehicle where your side mirrors do not pick up anything. The only way that you can detect the presence of another vehicle is to glance back over your shoulder and look for an instant.

The Ford Blind Spot Information System uses sensors to detect if there is anything in the Blind Spot area and if so, then there is a flashing light on your side mirror. This allows you to continue to focus on what is ahead on the road rather than having to look back.

The system also has a feature called Cross Traffic Alert. This system works when you are backing out of a driveway or a parking space. It alerts you if there is any traffic coming that would impede your backing out into the street in a safe manner.
